Bei Netzwerken wie Xing oder MeinVZ war das anders: Das basierte ja auf realen Kontakten. Bei Twitter funktionieren Kontakte anders.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auf Facebook beispielsweise hatte ich kaum mein Konto eingerichtet, da bot mir das System schon 22 Leute an, die ich tats\u00e4chlich kannte. Twitter schl\u00e4gt im Anmeldeprozess zwar auch Twitterer vor, denen man folgen soll, aber irgendwelchen Menschen zu folgen, die ich gar nicht kannte, fand ich seltsam. Hat das nicht etwas von Stalking? Daher war ich zun\u00e4chst etwas zur\u00fcckhaltend, was das Folgen angeht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoppla, wer folgt mir da&#8230;?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trotzdem merkte ich bald, dass meine Follower-Zahl zwar langsam, aber recht stetig anwuchs. Bei einem Blick auf die Kurzbiografie meiner Follower war klar, dass das bei weitem keine psychopatisch veranlagten Kandidaten waren, die mir nachstellen wollten. Viel eher waren das Menschen, die offensichtlich zu ganz \u00e4hnlichen Themen wie ich tweeteten. An diesem Folgen musste also etwas dran sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Licht ins Dunkel kam f\u00fcr mich, als ich begriff, dass Folgen auf Twitter anders funktioniert als die \u00fcblichen Freundschaftsanfragen in anderen Netzwerken. Der ausschlaggebende Unterschied ist n\u00e4mlich, dass bei Twitter keine beidseitige Zustimmung erfolgen muss, um eine Verbindung herzustellen. Sofern du deine Tweets nicht gesch\u00fctzt hast, sondern in dem \u00fcblichen offenen Profil twitterst, kann dir jeder Twitterer folgen. Gleichzeitig kannst auch du anderen Leuten ohne deren Genehmigung folgen. Das ist schon praktisch, denn ansonsten w\u00fcrden wir beispielsweise all die gesalzenen Details aus dem Leben der Promis sicher nicht erfahren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trauen wir uns also aus unserer einsamen Twitter-H\u00f6hle hinaus in die quirlige Welt des Gezwitschers und folgen wir erstmalig. Dazu muss man lediglich auf dem Profil der auserkorenen Person auf den Button Folgen klicken. Nach erfolgreicher Klick-Arbeit wird daraus Folge ich! mit einem h\u00fcbschen, wei\u00dfen H\u00e4kchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ab sofort laufen die Tweets dieser Person automatisch in deine Timeline ein. G\u00fcckwunsch! Du hast ein sogenanntes Following.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00bbFollowing\u00ab nennt man eine Person, der du auf Twitter folgst. Die Tweets, die deine Followings absetzen, erscheinen dann automatisch in der Timeline auf deiner Startseite.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ab sofort musst du nicht mehr aktiv das Profil deines frisch erworbenen Followings ansteuern, sondern bekommst alles, was diese Person twittert, live und l\u00fcckenlos geliefert. Au\u00dferdem k\u00f6nnen dir die Twitterer, denen du folgst, eine Direktnachricht schicken.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Da das Folgen das Grundprinzip des Kurznachrichtendienstes ist, kann man eine Follower-Beziehung auch in den Anwendungen von Drittanbietern, auf Handys, iPhones und anderen mobilen Diensten immer sehr leicht organisieren. Genauso unkompliziert kann man das Folgen jederzeit r\u00fcckg\u00e4ngig machen. Dazu bedarf es keiner umst\u00e4ndlichen K\u00fcndigungsschreiben wie beim Zeitschriftenabo, sondern lediglich eines weiteren Klicks an der gleichen Stelle im Profil der jeweiligen Person.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mit der Zeit kann das Folgen schon einmal etwas un\u00fcbersichtlich werden. Die aktuelle Following-Zahl findet man rechts im Profil. Eine vollst\u00e4ndige Liste erh\u00e4lt man bei Klick auf Following.
